Java is DA BOMB! OK, only for some stuff.  But, I've found that whenever you need anything that needs to be cross-platform and doen't require the speed of C, Java is the language of choice.  One nice thing is that debugging is a lot easier and if you're writing Java correctly, you don't need to worry too much about platform specifics.  Sweet! 02-JUL-2004

Working on LDAP Synchonization Utility Here at TVI we need a way to synchronize our Luminis user accounts with our student, faculty, employee Linux login system.  Before I went to using Netscape's Java LDAP tools, I had written a set of scripts that worked on crontab firing... shell scripts and embedded SQL (in C) for PostgreSQL.  The new way requires only three Java classes and it runs perfectly.  All updates to our UNIX LDAP server are done atomically to match our user accounts stored in PostgreSQL.  I like it. 26-JUN-2004

Started Working on New Site Layout While I liked the old layout and color scheme (blue of course), I figured since I had a ton more content I may as well make the site more workable. 24-JUN-2004
